How many & what kind of internships & projects works r needed 2 get in2 MS in US with gd funding & scholarship?

I am a btech student in Electronics & communication Engineering from India.I want to pursue my MS from any of the enounced US universities & meanwhile I have started preparing for GRE & TOIFL. I have heard that one need to work for projects in order to get admissions.
