Australia has its fare share of immigrant trouble, we have several boatloads of arrivals every week,?

I feel great sympathy towards them as most come from major conflict zones of the world. I go by the premise that if i woke in the night to a person knocking on my door asking to be let in because someone is trying to kill them i would let them in. is this not the stand i should we should take with all immigrants. Let them in because they come from a dangerous place, and sure there may be some bad eggs in the group, but we did let hundreds of thousands of English migrants in in the 50's and there was very little checking done there.
